User manual
This manual is for people using a TrinityX cluster — submitting and monitoring work — rather than administering it. It assumes the cluster has already been set up and that you have an account on it; account creation and cluster configuration are covered in the administration manual.
There are two ways to interact with the cluster, and most users mix them freely:
- the command line, by logging in over SSH to the controller or a dedicated login node, and
- the Open OnDemand portal, a web interface that offers the same everyday tasks — file access, job submission and monitoring — without leaving the browser.
Where to start
- Open OnDemand portal — connecting to the web portal and finding your way around it.
- Job submission — writing a job script and submitting work to the scheduler, from the command line or the portal.
- Job status and overview — checking what your jobs are doing and reviewing what has finished.
- Password change — changing your own password, on the command line or through the portal.
If you are not sure whether your cluster has a separate login node or whether the portal is enabled, ask your cluster administrator — both depend on how your particular TrinityX installation was set up.
